After a single visit we cannot get the lawn perfectly green, thick and weed free. We are not able to 'LAY HANDS' upon the lawn and like magic, instant perfection. A good lawn takes a full season of work and patience. A great lawn takes years. Our products and experience will get you there soon, but not overnight. Nothing makes an instant perfect lawn. With lawn care, nothing is instant.
Yes. Only water what you want to live.
We recommend you water once a week for 20 minutes per section, in the evening once the sun is off your lawn. During dry spells and high heat we recommend that you water twice a week.
No. Our fertilizer is a pet/child safe granular fertilizer that is a slow release.
Meaning: it will feed your lawn slowly over a period of approximately 6 weeks.
No. In fact watering your weed killer application within the first 48 hours is NOT recommended. After the weed killer is applied please stay off of the lawn for at least 1 full hour and do not water the lawn for 48 hours.
We spray your lawn for weeds. The application only kills existing weeds, it doesn't prevent weeds from growing. NOTHING and we mean NOTHING on the market kills weeds instantly and makes them disappear forever. Weed control takes patience and perseverance. It can take up to 14 days to see any reaction from the weed killer and up to 30 days for full effect. If you have a lawn full of weeds that's been neglected for some time. Multiple applications will be needed to get the desired effect. Only overseeding and cutting the lawn taller helps prevent weeds. NOTHING keeps them away forever.
We recommend 3 inches in total length for your lawn. It helps keep the moisture on the soil, and lets the blades of grass get wider showing a fuller, greener lawn. Shorter lawns attract weeds.
We believe Kentucky Blue Grass seed is the best for our climate. It spreads quickly and the blades are thicker and darker naturally than most Rye or Fescue brands.
Rake up the area exposing the soil.
Add top soil to the affected areas.
Sprinkle grass seed over area.
Gently, Step on the soil, to compact and flatten the soil and seeds.
Add another handful of soil to lightly cover the seeds.
Water thoroughly twice a day (morning and evening) until sprouts can be seen.
Approx. 7 to 10 days
Then water once a day until it's reached a length of 3 to 4 inches before mowing.
We come once a week on the same scheduled day approx the same time. We start in the early spring and stop in the fall when the lawn stops growing. Approx 16 weeks.
After the Spring application we like to fertilize every 6 weeks. Roughly May long weekend, July 15th, September long and once just before the winter.
After the initial application we like to wait 2 weeks between applications. When we have seen the weeds die off, then we spot spray only. Keeping chemicals off your lawn. The lawn must be dry for 24hrs before and after the application. Weather may be a determining factor in our schedule. Please check out Lawn Maintenance Schedule for updates.
After the snow has melted we like to wait until the ground has completely thawed. Depending on the weather that could be 5 to 10 days after the snow disappears. Waiting for the lawn to turn more green than yellow is a determining factor.
Everyone's lawn is different and the leaves fall at different rates depending on the local trees. When the lawn is completely covered in leaves we arrive for the first cleaning. We wait for the trees to be bare for the second and that's also when we apply the winter fertilizer.
Normally we arrive within 8 to 12 hours depending on package, of SNOWFALL STOPPAGE. If we are in the middle of a large storm (more than 10 hours) Then we will come by and give main access only, and then return after snowfall stoppage to detail and finish our work.
Normally 2cm or more but, this is Winnipeg and with High winds and little snow we will come out for less. Generally if you can walk on your sidewalk in flip flops without getting your feet wet, we don't come out for that.
Yes. We use a lawn friendly salt mixture with a fine sand mix. Approx 60/40 sand/salt. We like to apply this before large storms and after every snow clearing. A little sun and you have dry concrete.
No, the plow has a flow sensor so it moves up and down with the curves or 'bumps' on your driveway. The plow leaves approx 1/8 inch of snow on the driveway. The Sand/Salt mix or the days sun will expose the concrete.
Absolutely! Our experienced plow drivers can push, pull or backblade the snow where ever you would like. We cannot place the snow across the street or on pathways, driveways or city streets as per the City Of Winnipeg By-Laws.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. We post about upcoming storms, weather radar pictures, and when the trucks are leaving so that you may move vechicles.
As soon as it stops snowing. Generally it's at night. Our staff is careful not to make too much noise or use gas powered equipment at night so that you may enjoy a peaceful sleep. We ofter hear from customers that they did not hear us at all and woke up to a cleared driveway and sidewalk.
